Rim Rock Info for this Friday/Saturday

We plan to leave at 12:00 noon on Friday to travel to Kansas with our varsity and Top JV teams. We will not have organized practice on Friday or Saturday for those not attending this meet. The kids have been instructed to check the workouts for those two days and complete on their own. Info for the meet Saturday can be found below:

Hotel Info: Holiday Inn Express & Suites, Topeka North (601 US-24, Topeka, KS 66608)

Cross Country Course Location: Rim Rock Farm (2276 Burnett Lane, Lawrene, KS 66044)
The course is located approximately 24 miles east of our hotel, or 11 miles north of Lawrence, KS. There is only one way into the course and it is a one way gravel/dirt road. Traffic into the park is typically pretty slow.

Meet Schedule:
8:00 a.m. Girls "C" Team
9:10 a.m. Girls JV
9:45 a.m. Boys JV
11:30 a.m. Girls Varsity
12:05 p.m. Boys Varsity

Awards: Medals to top 25 individuals in all races. Team awards for winning JV team and top 3 teams in the varsity races. Awards will take place east of the finish line shortly after each race finishes.

Admission: Parking is free this year (previously they charged $10 per vehicle), but they will be charging $10 admission to all spectators of school age and older.

Itinerary:
Friday: Load vans at 11:50 a.m. and depart at 12:00 p.m. Plan on bringing lunch on the vans.
~3:00 p.m. - Arrive at hotel, check in, and change
~3:30 p.m. - Head to cross country course for our pre-meet run and to check out the course
~5:30 p.m. - Back to hotel to get cleaned up
~6:30/7:00 p.m. - Pasta feed in the hotel. In rooms and bed by 10:00 p.m.

Saturday: Early wake-up
~6:00 a.m. - Breakfast in hotel lobby
~6:15 a.m. - Load vans and leave for the meet
After the races are over, we will drive straight back to school so the kids who are attending homecoming can get cleaned up and ready.

If you would like to take your son/daughter home with you after their race/awards, that is okay with me.
